Such a delicate poem by Paul Verlaine. Thank you, much appreciated as well as your videos and good wishes. So far inspiring. I’m so grateful for you as we all are....even Rocky the cat watches your videos when I view them in our TV screen! xx
Patti, you are that quiet, brilliantly bohemian girl in the back of the class in high school who is always genuine, kind and a delight to discover to be witty and well-read too. Like a diamond, you won’t find her on the surface. You’ll have to look. Her nature is constant.
Gracias , for being... And blessings to you and your loved ones in the new year! May there be PEACE everywhere! And freedom for Leonard Peltier y Mumia Abu Jamal!
Can I say this is the most incredible and wonderful experience I’d ever imagine!
That technology provides me with such pleasures, to sit in the comfort of my home and witness a wee chat online with of one of the musical voices with lyrics ringing so true in my youth.. yes, Patti, dear woman, over the past several years I see now why your words were important then and since have increasingly become important to my life through your books.. as a testament to our lives and times, how we were in our thinking, our cultural ideals, and through your experiences with Robert, and your love of poetry, you teach us now more and more each time you speak of poets and poetry. Thank you.
For me, when the amazing Just Kids, and M-Train, and Year of the Monkey, published through your great narrating efforts on audiobook, I’ve been recently listening again to your voice, with such eloquent and remarkable grace, with great and lyrical detail, the vignettes and stories that make up your life, so much more seems to be revealed in your words as you speak them..
And now, to sit here, whenever I wish with these little videos, and have such an intimate experience with you here.. I find it so amazing and incredible!
Thank you for making these little videos.
Please don’t ever stop telling the same story over and over, and please don’t worry about your appearance because you really do look sweet, and your locks braided here and there are whimsical and lovely. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Love you so much..

The poem is very beautiful. I saw a little snow on Friday, it also didn’t last very long on the streets but stayed some time on trees and plants. I feel sad about not having much snow or no snow at all some winters. Sometimes there was snow for weeks when I was a child.
I love your story from the grave cleaning with your friends - and that you got to take the broom home from Japan!!
Happy, Peaceful and Healthy New Year to you Patti. I loved the snow story, here to we had the same . A flurry of snow flakes which disappeared on touching the ground! I also had a picture in my head of you , along with Ace and Dice cleaning the grave and the thought of how did you get the brush home made me laugh.
Please continue to rest and eat well. Lots of love from a freezing London🙏
Hello Patti, I just re-read the Japanese version of M train. The text echoes like a basso continuo of your home life with Fred.
Perhaps Patti may had a mild terminal addiction during this period. Because the main story is about visiting the graves. I can't help but chuckle when I imagine how he flew Mishima's broom back to the US, as you did in the video. I take my hat off to you for your intensive reading of several of Murakami's long-form masterpieces. I think you hit the nail on the head with your review of Sylvia Plath. A Neil Young song is featured in the book. His protest songs are iconic. I requested your Rododo Beach on a Japanese FM radio program at the end of the year and it played it, so I request Neil next time. The song was you dedicated to Vivienne Westwood when she died.Herbie Yamaguchi, a Japanese photographer who lived with Vivienne in London, knows a lot about music, including the Clash. He is the best Leica user in Japan. If you come to Japan, you and your daughter should meet him.
Thank you so very much for all the learning I'm doing...not a post goes by that we don't learn something together..!!

Love. ❤️
He put his shoes on and he laid down
Outside the clouds were swiftly gathering
He drained his cup and his stirred the mixture
And he closed his eyes as his conscience whispered
Just another wandering soul
Adrift among the stars
Just another human heart
Led, led away

Just received Devotion...after my mind decides to wipe away the dust of a long deep sleep I'll dive in.

The snow is a blast when you are a kid. Memories from growing up in Chicago on the lake. Brrrr! Rest dearest Patti. We all need your stories.
