Hi Patti, I’m going back back back to catch up with all your posts as I’m new here. I wanted to say I’m fairly certain a fortnight is 2 weeks. I remember looking it up once and that is what I learned. So ya, that’s all. A fortnight = 2 weeks. Thank you for all the good readings. Being read to is my favorite thing. Well one of my favorite things. Bye!

Dear Mrs. Smith, Happy Easter and belated happy anniversary, too. Thanks for your high energy on Substack. Glad I subscribed to the Poetic Outlaws, grateful for both pages, you give me the tools to build a bridge when I lack words in "formal" exchanges, and I often do, through the artists you share and your own work, it gives me an excuse to communicate through and about things I love. I am taken back to school, there was never enough time to spend with writers and poets during lessons, except for endless hours of isolation in the school library, - in good company :)

Yes, break all of the rules so we can go forward as peacefully as one can into the future to attain a world that will benefit as many people as possible. Happy anniversary Patti, and everybody in this supportive and loving sub stack community. These moments that you spend with us, Patti, are truly a joy! A very nice respite from this crazy and stupid world.

“We'll ride like writers ride

Neither rich nor broke

We'll race through alleyways

In our tattered cloaks so

Come be my April fool

Come we'll break all the rules”—-special thanks to you and Tony for your collaboration on this very rockin’ song!

Forever your April fool—-keep the love going*~~*

Happy Anniversary Patti, and thank you so much for all you do. Loved your reading, as always. Your thoughts on life, poetry, art and music always lift my spirits, and I'm excited for your future Smithposium plans. By the way, I too am wearing a hat inside the house today. It's still pretty cold by California standards!

A good beginning of spring.. I read here since around 6 month and appreciate the generosity of share and gentle twinkles along the days .. Your words and personnal inner life and artistic interests etc bring to me a very healthy shake up and thanks really for that ;)

I love your great energy and creativity that feeds on curiosity sensibility and openness..

I am French and I now live in a pretty island, in quite a large solitude.. my life becomes now a little more peaceful, starting to learn how to repair myself from the wounds of life, discovering how to respect myself better and maybe try to create something again - one day.

I love people and life with people, but it's very difficult for me now to build a new "social life" - need to fix myself first I guess; even though now I finally have the time and the place to read, draw, walk, and more, I can't manage to do any of this... or really very little. I don't understand why, and how recover all that, I loved.. I'm still buying second hand books and music ( even if I dont read them I still love to be encircle by books and need them). I never stopped to listen to your albums, but it's cool to see different versions when you post videos, and to travel with you sometimes by you posts.

You 're for me an example of simply be yourself, proud and honest, and share what you find and see and like with us : these little moments of your life, thoughts and feelings that you allow us to share with you are precious and a great help for me to walk in this direction: to do more, and to wonder less, to reduce fears! I have your books around and sometimes read some pages.

I remember an afternoon in Paris when I was around 15 ( 1975?76?) I run away from school, went to Paris (was in suburb) and saw Patti in la "fête de Rouge", it was kind of political meeting and music festival -fête du PSU / LCR I think.. One of my first concerts ;) great memory !! everyone was sitting on the floor, many bands playing, for me it was paradise!!

I listen to your messages carefully, but I don't understand everything, because my school English is very bad now ;D) and I don't know any automatic video word translator to help me, I have to progress!! this is surely a good opportunity!

To write I do my best, and I find help for missing words on the web ;) I hope not too much confused!

So your messages coming to me are reconnecting me with a part I try to retrieve, and also with the interest and natural curiosity witch are missing me. I read also the comments and I like it much too, (it's easier because written words I can have help by translators!!;) sometimes the comments help me to understand parts of the video I didnt really understood .

So, thanks for all that ! thanks to be you, to be here and talk with us ;) and thanks to the community also. it makes a difference to feel connected with other people, even very far and "digitally"

ps - I'm tempted by your reduced price offer, -not decided yet because the money .. it's complicated! and I don't know the difference with "the melting", and also maybe I should try to spend less time on the internet, war, earth, etc.. and perhaps even good things like substacks and Patti Smith !!? (so I'll think a few days more of it )

thanks to everyone to be here
