I too love Brighton. I need to go back and visit. Worked there for a while.

Am so touched that you love Brighton as much as I do for I have been going there for years whenever I'm staying at my cousin & family who live on the Ouse River in Lewes -- a short 20 min bus ride to my rocky beach, mews wonderland. And yes, I too feel the nostalgic air imagining illicit affairs and London gangsters hiding out in worn bedrooms overlooking the always rough seas crashing against the pillars holding up the wharf. Then there's Dublin -- haven't gone. At least not yet... but its at the top of my "bucket list". Am in love with your sharing of moments spent in towns, villages, cities that have given birth to endless hours of great authors and their works. Inspiring. Fancy Free. Longing for the open road... thank you!

Dublin is lovely. I Love that you discuss packing. I always wonder how other people pack for trips. I have very specific methods for how I pack and I'm happy that you realize how interesting it is.

So proud of your ability to bounce back and keep on trucking!

I took a break-through trip to Nepal recently and managed to keep most of my luggage intact.

In addition to making new friends, l surprised myself and my family by keeping a long-deferred promise! Yes, l can. You are an inspiration. Yes, we can!

Hi Patty, I'm wondering if you're familiar with the work of Hermann Broch. I'd never heard of him until I picked up a second-hand copy of his book 'The Death of Virgil'--it's an intense work, often purely stream of consciousness, following the last 18 hours of Virgil's life; a good portion is spent with Caesar Augustus trying to convince him not to burn the Aeneid (the crux of the novel). Apparently, Joyce was a friend who helped free him from prison prior to the outset of WW2 and then to emigrate to the US. It's a fascinating, if difficult, book.

So glad to spend a few with you! I feel almost as though I’m right there in Dublin! Wow. I bet you had fun with the man in the long dark coat song, great we got to be part of it. I’m so excited to be on this trip with everyone, we all cannot climb on the plane, but you do! And you know all the good places and people. If you come by here, I know good people and places to explore and remember. Happy travels Patti! Terrific you can get out there and spread your love and our need for peace and joy. ❤️
