Bo Diddley, Joan Baez, and Patti Smith are such rock and rollers. I just wish I could’ve experienced Bo and his band back in the hey day. That guitar strumming is something else. And those swaying moves the ladies show are so cool. Wow. I will have to find Joan’s book. Keep on rockin’ 🎸
Just floating across the stage…incredible. Uplifting and a reminder of our rich past together here on our planet. Joyous celebration. Love Bo’s guitar. And these three lovely ladies together. Can’t be better.
Dear Patti- with your deep and wide history, you often weave threads from the past into the present. But your special gift is illuminating the timelessness that music, writing and art live in. (And how to separate those three?) I raise my morning coffee to you. ...signed... "The Fourth Capricorn".
Joan’s book is quite good. Very moving at times, playful at others. It’s the coolest of times to be growing old & still seeing creatives add another chapter. Joan’s poetry & drawings; Peter Coyote’s poems, Bob’s art & metal work. And, of course, you expanding your lyric/poetry into such wonderful prose…Much love to you & Joan ( and Lynn!). I’m so happy to have shared this earthly presence with you all. Peace, Patti. ✌️🌹
I started to write a long post about how much you both mean to me but I know sometimes it must be weird to hear such personal stories from strangers. What I will say is that I did not have a great mother to listen to — she did not know me well and we never did sit at the table. But the universe did intervene and send me to you and Joan and I did listen to you. I took my lessons from where I could. I learned to write, I learned to speak up for others, I learned about Rimbaud and Sacco and Vanzetti. I learned to radiate love. And I thank you both.
I am 30 years old now and ready to start a family with my husband. And I will take all those lessons and hope that my children listen. And I hope that one day they will want one more day with me, drinking coffee as I tell my life story. Thank you again.
Enjoying all your posts, love hearing about your adventures. Seize the day.
I love the gown wearing woman playing guitar and fancy footwork. Multi-talented!
Beautiful, Patti, thanks to you and Joan for all the music and poetry.
love from another Capricorn.

I was there! It was lovely. Thank you for sharing yourselves and your work with us.
Love this, Patti. The photos are great and - oh my! - that clip of Bo Didley.
Hey Patti. Thanks for posting this. It sounds like an amazing event. You and Joan are two of my favorite singers/storytellers.
Love this post. All hail Bo Diddley and the Duchess!
And of course all hail our national treasure - Joan Baez. She always inspires.
🕊️💙✨

Me too, and born in the year of the dragon! So relate to other capricorns…

I LOVED Bo Diddley! Still can‘t resist that beat.

I’m a fellow Capricorn too! Jan 8
Dec 23 here.
Joan Baez is mythic – she's been everywhere and done everything, sort of like Allen Ginsberg that way.
I was dancing and singing in my flat last night. I don’t think my neighbors were impressed. But i thought i was fantastic 😂
