The stroll through the cemetery was very relaxing and enjoyable. It saddens me to hear your worry for the world, but you still manage to have an optimistic perspective and convey that to us. For that, I am grateful.
Dear Patti, next time when you visit Munich, go to the old southern cemetery in the inner city near Sendlinger Tor. It is quite similar to this one in berlin, but maybe a little smaller, wilder and older. Some famous persons are buried there. You will like it. Greetings and Love, Elisabeth
There is a Jewish cemetery in Prenzlauer Berg that I used to love to walk through when I was there one Fall. It is so beautiful, wild and silent as well, even though it's located off the Schönhauser Allee. I'm still amazed it survived WWII. To walk through with the huge trees and the crackling of leaves under my feet was really lovely. Thank you for taking me through yours.
Thanks for including the photos of chestnuts! The chestnut trees of my youth succumbed to the blight so long ago, but I always loved climbing them and especially loved the smooth inside the prickly outside. Like some people after you get to know them. Safe travels ❤️
Thanks for the peaceful walk. Leaves talk ever so quietly in the autumn, when they fall and sometimes lift again and move elsewhere. Just like us. Hope you had a good evening concert, Patti.
Thanks for the walk, Patti. I have never found cemeteries to be spooky, but rather, calming and peaceful. Older ones are always better, maybe because more restful spirits (or their residue) have accrued there over time. Also because nature is allowed to be mostly undisturbed in cemeteries, and they become more park-like as they age. I have been to Berlin in the past, if I ever go there again, I will look for this one.

So nice walking with you through the lovely cemetery. Very peaceful and the birds came across well.

Pianist/composer Clara Schumann would take daily walks, even on tour playing her husband Robert's compositions. They gave her great comfort.
