Oh thank you, yes, it is a beautiful poem. ”My stars were rustling” - and my mind somewhat strangely connects this to another poem where stars (or one star, actually) are pretty noisy, too. It’s ”Stars” by Edith Södergran (translated by Johannes Göransson): ”When night comes/I stand on the steps and listen/stars swarm in the yard/and I stand in the dark./Listen a star fell with a clang!/Don’t go out in the grass with bare foot/my yard is full of shards.” I’m trying to find a Rimbaud translator I would like, and there are not many options among Finnish translator. So I think I’ll try to find a book translated by Louise Varase, too.

"In the sky my stars were rustling". What a beautiful and evocative poem! I'm very late to Rimbaud month but excited about catching up. This poem is a lovely start and I'm already hooked.

Thank you for leading us on this Rimbaudian journey! I will have to read the Varese translations. I love that the poem invokes the muse. Rimbaud is my muse 🙏

The lunar total eclipse in Scorpio on May 5th opened a transformational portal. An auspicious occasion indeed.

Thank you, Patti. My black boots that have been re-heeled about 3x and worn for years will now be referred to as my Rimbaud boots. Excited to continue Rimbaud month with you and this community of curious souls.

I certainly have a hard time finding shoes to wear when I travel.

The shoes in your picture look like a Van Gogh painting. It is not Magritte's

wow a shared influence I was not aware of ! - I loved the Varese's- Zappa introduced me - the home they lived in at 188 Sullivan - it sold last year ! I had wanted to buy it but beyond my means - the facade facing the street is nothing however the backside faces gardens and a path for all who live to meet and talk and sit - a number of artists lived there --- it is a hidden jewel that takes you to another place in time -

I would wear my soft leather Trippen boots and in my sack will be a Gateau Nantais, made especially for long voyages. Jamie Schler generously shared the recipe and its history here:

Thank you Patti, a beautiful poem read just as Arthur would have wanted. While I am here - as the work of Louise Varese was important for you so too is your work important for me, and so many others. I look forward to every posting, and am so excited about Rimbaud month.
