Thank you, Patti. This song is one of my favorites on Dream of Life. Now knowing the story it means even more. The date of November 4th, the births and the death. Thank you to the beautiful men in your life, Robert, Sam and Fred. My favorite lines . . . Those who seek, feel the glow, a glow we all will know . . . . I felt the glow of your love for them.

What an amazing song! Make me cry! So deep in love. Thank you for this song. And If you allow me, I don't believe in coincidences in life, and this dates say something about you and the men in your life, Robert and Fred were more than your perfect soulmates, for me they are your Guardian Angels.Love you.💖🇧🇷

Patti, what a deep and thoughtful piece! The older we get, the more I understand that the message is so very true...so very true. This life is played-out with a small number of souls that continue to work out Karma in each iteration. Bless you, today on such an auspicious date.

Dear Patti, I just saw that today is Sam Sheperd’s birthday. What days of paths crossing these are for you. So I wanted to leave you a little something here today too, to say I’m thinking of you. This, by one of my favorite poets, Gerard Manley Hopkins, for your friends, who hadst borne proportion in your bliss:

WHERE ART THOU FRIEND . . .

Where art thou friend, whom I shall never see,

Conceiving whom I must conceive amiss?

Or sunder'd from my sight in the age that is

Or far-off promise of a time to be;

Thou who canst best accept the certainty

That thou hadst borne proportion in my bliss,

That likest in me either that or this, —

Oh! even for the weakness of the plea

That I have taken to plead with, — if the sound

Of God's dear pleadings have as yet not moved thee, —

And for those virtues I in thee have found,

Who say that had I known I had approved thee, —

For these, make all the virtues to abound, —

No, but for Christ who hath foreknown and loved thee.

Life, spirit, soul ! they come and go,

but whence or whither who can say ?

A something dwells within, we know,

And finds expression through the clay —

It goes — the cold clay knoweth naught,

'Tis as the clod, the stock, the stone,

Inert ! that which designed, and thought,

And sympathized, and loved, is gone !

But wherefore should it not be free

To seek and own a sympathy

With ties which still to life pertain ?

If the soul dieth, if our years

On earth, of discord, joys, and tears,

Be all of life, then life is vain,

And Heaven's great work imperfect ! No,

All records, past and present, show,

With types of things still to appear,

That not alone to psalm, and song,

And visions of the ancient seer,

Do these conceits (miscalled) belong !

No! death is but the second birth —

And man, immortal, oft returns,

Lured from his spirit-home to earth

By his affinities, and yearns,

How fondly, deeply, to reveal

His guardian interest for our weal !
