I have started watching Andrei Rublev and have paused at the end of the first segment to say thank you for the recommendation...I can already feel myself being drawn in by Tarkovsky's spell. Thank you for your own unique, magical words here!

Excellent point of wiew of Tarkovsky's poetic world!!

Patti Smith is the most modest artist I know. And very deep, and religious person!

Most of her song are in mol-scale("blue notes"), but they are full of joy of life(just like her books).

Greetings!

This is so great on so many levels. Besides the poetic writing style in itself, I love how the story introduces us to figures, artist and inspires to check them out. Now beyond that, I also got intrigued to know more about Milos as he seems quite an eclectic interesting character and wonder how you two met.

I have loved and followed Patti Smith's work religiously since 1976 and saw her at an impromptu concert at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, California years ago where she signed a sheet music book, I play piano, which I cherish. Thank you for this forum. Exciting and oh so interesting, as always...Michael

Andrei Rublev is a Mystery. Its visual poetry is as close to the experience of living in early medieval Russia as you can get, l guess. It is best to see it with a guide, like Milos was to Patti.

But, the film speaks to many different people; it is also embraced by contemporary conservative Christian groups who see it as an affirmation of their postions.

Oh goodness, I was at that gig at the Troxy! I took my dear friend, Manda, who had never seen you live before. It’s one of my greatest pleasures - introducing people to your presence.

My grandmother—a feisty, funny, Lucky Strike smoking, coffee drinking, ahead of her time woman—was born on April 1st. She was far from a fool. But she had the spirit of a jester, one who could make you laugh, but also knew why you did. She was more like the jester of King Lear, who offered insight and advice to the Royals, a most useful and necessary advisor, an artistic wizard. Your post and the song reminds me of her, and forever will on every April 1st.
