Thank you Patti! I love birds . . . and music. My dad was a jazz musician, a drummer and I have fond memories of being in his music room playing on his piano and xylophone. Listening to the metronome . . . I think music and birds remind me of freedom, rising above this place, feeling light and loved in the sky swirling with joy.
This made me think of two other of my favorite wordsmiths and artists, Guy Clark & Terry Allen. The former made the later promise that when he died the other would put his ashes in a sculpture. I made a pilgrimage from Holland to Texas to see it this month (after vaccination). I love you and Murakami and Charlie Parker (also saw the Bird Lives statue in KC on the same pilgrimage). Anyhow....love.
This piece is so awesome that a word to properly describe it has yet to be born. My two writers brought together by one of my favorite jazz artists....it's almost too much for my heart to handle, all this joy and delight! Wheee!! xx
You were in my dream the other night. The world we were in was hazy, foggy and dark. You were on a ghost hunt, showing me your technique for detecting them before they dissolved into the ethers again. It was nice to meet you in the astral.
As I was reading this a bird flew into the window to my right. I went out to see if it had been injured, but there was nothing there and not another bird in sight.
I absolutely love your recounting of your conversation with Murakami and Yoko. Thank you, Patti for this wonderful project, so fulfillingly appreciated by your "people"!

Oh, and The Wind Up Bird Chronicle is one of my favorite books.

Bird of Paradise
Bitty bebop boop dizzy dizzy woo
Oh, the synchronicities 🤍
Love to know this story! I want to read Murakami, yet! You are a big inspiration and my best company lately...thanks for all!
Love your album "Gone Again." It's fantastic!
Thank you. These writings are brilliant. I can read them over and over.
the bird sculpture under his bed...what a greta sneaky approach
and indeed a great exchange with him. But the best is, in the end you "really" know where the sculpture is and I concur, brilliant
The Wind Up Bird Chronicle is the one of the most chillingly violent thing I have ever read, yet I loved it
I also believe that the things we imagine are very close to us!!! ( under the bed! 👍 ) and I also believe in this luminous world of the sky.
Thank you Patty
