I listening to this and It made me think in retrospective, back to 1975 through 1978 or was it 1979?, the years in which my girlfriend and I were unconditional fans of the Patti Smith Group with Lenny Kaye. By the end of that decade Patti said good bye to New York during a concert at the Academy of Music aka the Palladium on 14th st. She was moving to Detroit to join her love Sonic Smith. The transition in those almost 50 years have transformed her voice with highlights of a Bob Dylan.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I felt so fortunate to be there for this on Friday. I tried to record it but became so mesmerized once you started playing it that (embarrassingly!) I forgot to press the record button :) <3
Love that the decision was made to project this photograph during such an emotional piece , can imagine it must have been really something to be looking up from the floor’s perspective while this was happening. I think it’s beautiful that you’re able to continue to incorporate another’s art in this way, I really believe that our loved ones are always with us and there seem to be so many strong reminders this time of year , thank you for sharing this ✨
