i'm sure someone has already said by now but the Dylan song is 'Percy's song', not on any album but on Biograph and various bootleg series, written around 1963 i think - Joan Baez also does a cool version in Dont Look Back. it goes 'oh the cruel rain and wind' which is the refrain.
i was going to comment on the last video but didn't that her t-shirt is a William Blake design and Patti was wearing the same one when she played in the Royal Albert Hall last year.
" am I going to be a reclusive crank ball or do something about it?" this MUST be on a shirt you sell at the venues! hail to all reclusive crank balls!
The Silence of the Butterflies... Following your post with Michael Stipe's soundtrack, I remember this little text by Tom Verlaine in Mr. Stipe's road trip/rebirth book "Two Times Intro: On the Road with Patti Smith" (sorry, I am going crazy with the seasons): "December I'm thinking of bells alot lately. Big bells. and snow. Then a week later. a snow storm most of the night. and, The Liberty Bell! So silent! Silence!!" Sorry, now it's snowing in September. The book just read like a family story, the best possible band philosophy. Crossing fingers to see Television in the UK, for many reasons, not only for the Moon.
That was such a nice night moment with you. I finally got to listen in, since I am visiting Germany and am always late for everything here during my visit. I may as well be late for your readings, Patti! It was so cozy and I really loved that Shakespeare song. You were dead on re Dylan! 😃
Your humility, sense of humor, and playfulness is so heartwarming to be a part of. I hope this is not too strange a question. For years now I have been searching for a comfortable desk chair. Many had to go back.I see what you are on looks thick and comfy. Would you be willing to share the brand/manufacturer and a model if you know it.xxx
