I was looking for this song and post last week because of my mother, when things got difficult. I am grateful for this one, this song found me again now. And also, even if I cannot locate it exactly, I thought about the statement you made (maybe I dreamt it) about time, especially time spent with parents, your mother, questions you wish you had asked her, about childhood. Now that things are suspended for a while I cherish this presence even more, and try to listen, too, thank you.
Hello, have been a while since Im reading your substacks, and Im sorry for that. Im facing dificult times with my deprecion and its hard, but you give me strenght to continue, and I have to say that this song is so emotional, and so beautiful, that makes me happy as a mother, because im sure that your mother have so much proud of you in heaven because the amazing woman that you became. I love you. Thank you for exist.💖🙏🏻
I met your mom in the 90s with a friend who had been writing her. She showed us her photo albums and I saw her gollywogs on the fridge. Yer pops had just had a stroke so didn’t join. I had a terrible cold so it was a very surreal trip. She was a lovely and generous woman!
Not sure you'll see this before you head to Knoxville, but if you're looking for some good, inexpensive food and great coffee, check out the food coop (Three Rivers). We go for their breakfast buffet every day we are there - so good! (do need a car) https://www.facebook.com/threeriversmarket
Hi Patti, I first would like to say thank you for all you’ve been sharing…it’s wonderful! I wanted to make sure I got a “Thank you” to you. I’m not a paid subscriber and I get the feeling substack will soon be a subscriber site only. Thank you again! You are a bright star in my day, week, month, year! Steven
The apple ( Rosa family!) doesn’t fall far from the beautiful tree. Thank you Rose for bringing such an amazingly special and soulful being to this life. Your light shines bright through your daughter and her daughter. You have given so much to make this world such a great place to be. 💓🙏🏼
Love the song. beautiful ode to motherhood and the Divine Mother. Thus discovered other songs on Trampin. Cartwheels is also very very lovely. Trespasses sustains a mystery I don't want disturbed, defying as it does so beautifully any ineffectual grasping of the mind. Pardon me, I must ask, as I have recently noted your earlier call for cover suggestions. I suggest October Nights by Electra Day in the album Quiet Hours. It is Dylanesque, J Conradian, could easily be rearranged for RnR, with juicy lyrics I imagine you could easily get your teeth into. https://electraday.bandcamp.com/track/october-nights Possibly also Big Sky on that album could be of interest. Thanks again for Mother Rose. It tenderly touches the right spot. and we all need this touching

Happy birthday to your mother! Your mom sounds like a wonder being. Thanks for sharing a tiny bit of her with the world.
How wonderful your parents shared themselves in your documentary. I loved your mother talking about your concert "medley" . 🌹
