That’s amazing about Charleville and the house. It’s a lovely thing that you are caring for it. I studied Rimbaud years ago and you’ve brought me back to him again. I just love your mind and heart ❤️
Thank you Patti for sharing so sensitive expierence. I love the way you tell the story (as always), you are a lovely person. Greetings from Argentina 🙌
Oh, what a tender small pilgrimage. I can’t wait see what you create for the month of Rimbaud. You must feel so blessed to be able to shepherd his land. You are honoring his memory and his artistry in such loving and unique ways. Rimbaud - such a tortured soul, such a brilliant mind. And he endured so much. The mustard fields especially touched me. Such striking color, yet so soft and gentle and peaceful: that’s what the picture said to me.
Long ago, when you were a teen-ager dreaming of your "boyfriend", did you have any inkling that someday you would not only visit his grave, but be so intimate with him as to become the keeper of his home? I wonder have you ever slept in his house, and if so, did he visit you? 🖤
Thank You Patti, these pictures make the old house feel damp and earthy like it cant decide what it is made of. I have envisioned the process of him writing that book in the farmhouse before I knew what it looked like. I see now that it is gone, replaced by something that might have been considered modern yet still feels antique. I have your photograph ‘Arthur Rimbaud’s Utensils, Charleville France 2006 ‘ signed with a graceful flourish on the back in pencil. I hung it in the bedroom in an old blackened wood frame that holds it like a cabinet. Occasionally I think I see you holding your camera reflected in the dull polish of the spoon but perhaps it is another trick of the light.
Lovely to see these beautiful photos of the house, museum and the countryside. It’s seems a peaceful way to celebrate Earth Day. Here in London we had 4 days of gathering around Parliament with music, poetry and some amazing costumes. On Saturday we surrounded the Houses of Parliament in a peaceful and very meaningful way. There were 70,000 people of all types from children to their grandparents. This was not mentioned in our news programmes! Thank you Patti for keeping in touch with us and reminding me that People Have The Power! Love from London 🙏
Places I never knew about or dreamed of show up in your posts, Patti. I find myself wishing two opposing things simultaneously: that I could be just like you, black coffee, friend Alain, passion projects, following the path as it opens and also totally authentic and fearlessly so (as you are). Thank you for the a.muse.ment.
Thank you Patti for taking us along with your words and photos of Rimbaud’s Charleville. So beautiful. I smell the lilac and see the field of bright yellow mustard flowers.
I'm deeply grateful to see those pictures from you of our beloved Arthur!! I think you are enjoying this work about him and I'm very anxious to read it too. Wishing you the very best, with all my regards.
Patti, after the Paris post, and the Charleville post in particular, something led me back to Woolgathering. There, page 3, 2nd paragraph, was that something. What you imagined has been
a beautiful way to care and celebrate and give love to Rimbaud

What to say other than you're lucky! Wish I could be there.
We live & travel through your eyes. Thank you so much. (Teeny Tiny Teacher)

The historic house that you are Shepherding looks like it needs new window shutters. I admire how you phrase your responsibility.
