Thank You Patti, I’m pretty sure that if I was on the cover of Bazaar and had a Substack I would be talking about it, too. I’ve had to curb my book buying a little bit lately, but my budget does allow me to buy Book of Days, because my local bookstore is having a sale today. I’ll also get a copy of Bazaar. And I will pray for the people in Iran when I do the Metta meditation. Have a great birthday and I’ll miss seeing you at the Fillmore. I cherish the memory of seeing you and saying hello at On The Bridge last time you were here in San Francisco. Peace and Love.

Dear, Patti:

I love it when you share books and poems that you are reading. I am wondering if you could share notes with the titles and authors. Happy Holidays.

Thanks for this post and the dark one. Loved both, and love Emiky Brontë. You continue to be such a source of inspiration! I am retiring from my day job in january and really look forward to working on a couple of book projects as well as making music. My pension is humble, but there are so many things I love to do that don‘t cost a cent. Except maybe the electric bill, since I need light at night. ;-)

Dear Patti,

I’m writing here in the hopes that you’ll see it. I just saw the photo you posted on instagram of your Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. It’s among the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. It should be an installation in a gallery. It’s so amazing that I’m nearly speechless. It’s the tree, but also the whole thing: the crèche, the snowman, the sled -- I can’t make out what each of the snow globes are but I see one of the Eiffel Tower, a balletic ice skater, a tree (the base of the tree snow globe looks amazingly elaborate), and the guitars, standing like sentinels.

At first (before realizing you had a few photos) I thought that the whole thing was on the floor and, seen that way, the snow globes looked enormous! Everything about it is wonderful.

If you’re in the mood, could you at some point give a little tour of each of the things or even just a photo of it with the lights on in the evening (or the day)? You’ve already shared it so I don’t mean to impose, but it’s so incredible, I’d love to see it lit up and up close.

Wishing you - and everyone - a happy holiday, and gifts, as you say, great or small, equally bound in love.

As ever,

Robin

Thank you for setting a standard of beauty & creativity for those of us your age & older. I’m 82 & plan to spend the next few months of 2023 writing & completing my third book. I survived Covid recently & have emerged with a fresh appreciation of things I’d let slip by. Thanks for being you & always an inspiration. Stay safe. And for the people out there in substackland who wished me well, during my Covid bout, thank you.

Hey daylight Patti. The magazine shoot looks fantastic. Congratulations 🎉

Lovely to celebrate and acknowledge Ralph on his birthday. What a beautiful man! Always a mesmerising character in whatever role he plays. I’m especially fond of Spider. I must watch that performance again.

Thank you for opening the memory door on his incredible talent. 💖
