I've never explored the wilderness abroad. I hope one day I will confront my anxiety over airports. I need to travel in order to abolish these fears. I've heard Vienna is a wonderful place for residents and tourists. I know Falco, the late '80s artist recorded a song called "Vienna Calling". The Ferris wheel is so monochromatic. The Third Man is like a vintage Hollywood film with rare qualities. I've seen Citizen Kane decades ago. Glastonbury seems like a weird gathering of boho teen and adolescent hipster flag wavers. It will never be Woodstock.

Fuji Rock was held in Naeba again this year, and Patti's performance in 2002 is legendary, with videos still available. A "Fuji Rocker- Fuji Rock attendee," who knew Patti at the time, wrote on social media this summer that he regretted that Japan has become a country capable of war since 2012, citing Patti's video.

Fuji Rock is modeled after the Glastonbury festival, with its anti-nuclear, anti-war and anti-racist light motifs, and is held every year for three days in the mountains of Naeba, with participants who have built up their stamina and saved their money for the festival enduring rain and intense heat throughout the year. The festival is therefore very memorable for the artists who participate.

Patti, thank you very much for your speech.

Love all of your work Patti: music, photography, poetry, art, memoirs, all of it! Regarding The Third Man, I'm sure you're aware that the late great Roger Ebert included the 1949 classic in his 2007 essay The Ten Greatest Films of All Time. He wrote: "This movie is on the altar of my love for the cinema....Apart from the story, look at the visuals! THE TENSE COVERSATION ON THE GIANT FERRIS WHEEL. The giant, looming shadows at night. The carnivorous faces of people seen in the bombed-out streets of postwar Vienna, where the movie was shot on location. The chase through the sewers. And of course, the moment when the cat rubs against a shoe in a doorway, and Orson Welles makes the most dramatic entrance in the history of the cinema. All done to the music of a single zither." This poetic passage never fails to give me goose bumps when I read it aloud! I've watched this film and perhaps Antonioni's Blowup more than others among my favorites. Thanks for bringing all this back to me through your captivating photo Patti!

The concert in Vienna was so amazing! Pure connection! Thank you so much! I am in Vienna for the week, because of your concert, and today I had no plans in the afternoon and wandered past the Burg Kino. This movie theater has played The Third Man for as long as I can remember, but definitely for the nearly 40 years since I moved here. So I bought a ticket. Your picture of the ferris wheel inspired me. Thanks again!

I can relate to that shame infused feeling of guilt when I get pissy or bark like an angry dog at life's little-- and sometimes not so little inconveniences, when many truly are struggling just to survive. But never doubt that you deserve all of 9your wealth of experiences and wonder. Big love for making us all your beneficiaries, too
