What a glorious life you live to do something you love for a living and go to amazing cities where Bach and Goeth once lived and worked. You are truly blessed Patti.
Do not cry for me, for I go where music is born”
I love this quote and I’ve often thought that heaven had the most heavenly voices that once lived and filled our lives with beautiful song and that even God must have a hard time choosing a lead singer. I imagine
Went to Austria a few yrs ago for Shubert 200 th Birthday.. Net day got on Tram by myself to go pay respects To Beethoven . I asked people on the tram to tell which stop to get off for Beethoven the entire bus volumously said “ Beethoven experience of a lifetime. It was November fresh vase of red roses were at his tomb
Thank you, Patti. I love that you have such special relationships with your children, that you travel and perform together, experience so many places together, that each of you appreciates the heart of each place, that you’re reverent, joyful, and thoughtful. Thank you for always sharing beauty, joy, love...
In high school I had a senior English teacher who became a friend after I graduated. He loved Bach, played his organ music himself, and we listened together to records of Bach organ music. It was because of him that I became an English major and then teacher of English, as well as a writer. Tonight I am giving my first Indianapolis reading from my new _Homecomings: A Writer's Memoir_ and will read a passage from a chapter about Jack London Leas. Thanks, Patti, for the treat.
Such brilliance. It is so incredible how music is a universal communicator.
When I was in Vienna, I visited a place where WA Mozart lived for a while and also played. We attended a candlelit concert there… the stuff dreams are made of. In London I adore visiting St Martin’s in the fields and attend their concerts.
Thank you for sharing that wonderful piece of Bach and that uplifting organ sound. It does indeed come from a place that seeks harmony in this world.
