Patti, I want to thank you for posting this - it was great to stumble upon it this morning. Great to learn about Sound Collective and live that it's only on vinyl. I'm having bad luck with my phone deleting things I've written just now but I had a lot to say haha.
I did recently watch Andre Rublev and was amazed by it and had a feeling that I peered into how it actually was to live in the Middle Ages!
I hope you feel better soon consider the vaccine I think it's one of the great ones. Well I guess I'm pretty vaccine positive but that one really gave me some psychic relief. Keep up your amazing work I love your substack. Also i think i met you at rather ripped records when i was 14. :)

The work with Soundwalk is incredible...your voice so mesmerising (as always).
It reminded me of an audio I heard last year here in the Botanical Gardens (Plantentuin) in Meise, Belgium by Jura Shust, Coniferous Succession, where next to a giant slab of a Sequoia tree, more than a 1000 yezrs old, a story is told inspired by the slavic ghost of the forest Leshy...also beautiful and mesmerising.

this is a letter about a woman who’s gone. Your songs became part of her story, and eventually, part of mine too.
Over the past year, I had the privilege of recording the life story of Sandra, a woman in Antwerp who had experienced homelessness. During our conversations, your music and your words kept returning.
After she died, I read some parts of the text at her funeral, inspired in part by Because the Night and by what that song had come to mean in her life.
It seems the place & time to share it here. I've gathered the funeral text, a short letter to you, and a few photographs below.

upon returning from morning sage and prayer-
with warm grey clouded sky barely arriving..
birds gently gliding and singing overhead..
then, returning quietly
to my room and turning to the "stack"...
I found you, dear lady..as if it were a dance..a synchronous unity..a continuation of birds in song.. awakening as one.
