Thank you so much for this wonderful encomium to The Kitty. It is so moving to hear this after reading Jesse’s beautiful piece. Thank you for including the video which I have seen - and love - but did not know who the kitty was. The video is otherworldly, layered in a way that makes me think of a pentimento. My favorite part is toward the end when you, Patti, smile at Jackson.
Thank you to everyone who has shared herein about their own pets. I read so many deeply touching stories on Jesse’s post, where she invites readers to share. I recommend Jesse’s post to everyone. The writing is beautiful and the photos of Jesse and the Kitty are so moving. Anyone who has had an animal for a best friend can instantly understand.
Wishing everyone peace and the love and psychic protection that comes with a beloved pet.
It is a funny coincidence that Jesse and you wrote about cats in the same day where one of my best friend’s cat, Pasquina, disappeared. Pasquina walked out the door this morning, in an unguarded moment, and she didn’t come back… yet.
She was adopted about 3 years ago, on Easter day. That’s how she had her name, because Pasqua means Easter in Italian. She looked like a weird cat, with strange attitudes and postures. But they soon realized the reason: she is deaf. She doesn’t know the world outside the door and everything could be dangerous for her. So now she’s somewhere there, alone. There is a street with cars, and a wood beyond, then the mountain. I hope Pasquina, with her oblique look and her lovely crooked walk, could be soon home, safe and well. Dear, unique, Pasquina
Good night Patti (it's half past midnight in Italy at the moment), I always loved your Smell like teen Spirits cover a lot, and that video is... so special
