Today is Yoko Ono’s 90th birthday. Blessings upon her. This is a performance from 2010 with Tony Shanahan and friends. A way to salute the energetic artist and activist whose favorite word, it seems, is peace. May we all strive for it. May we all attain it. Happy 90th birthday dear Yoko. Your aspirations turn us on.

Thanks for sharing your version of that delightful song. When you started playing harmonica, I beamed with joy.
Yoko is an inspiration. Whenever my mind needs a jolt, I dip into her book, Grapefruit. Here's a couple I read this morning.
Dawn Piece
Take the first word that comes across your mind.
Repeat it until dawn.
Cloud Piece
Imagine the clouds dripping.
Dig a hole in your garden to put them in.
Air Talk
It's sad that the air is the only
thing we share.
No matter how close we get to each other
There is always air between us.
It's also nice that we share the air.
No matter how far apart we are
The air links us.
Happy birthday Yoko. You and your work are treasures.
from Yoko's A Book of Instructions and Drawings,
Painting for the Wind
"Cut a hole in a bag filled with seeds
of any kind and place the bag where
there is wind
1961 summer"
Tip of the hat to all artists for they are the tillers of the soil , planters of seeds that add enrichment to our lives and nourish our souls. Happy Birthday Yoko, and Big thanks to Patti for this tribute x
