I was blessed with being at her book launch and concet at Town Hall in New York City. Well, actually, I was more than blessed; it took more than a wee bit of work to make it there. But work, money, determination, and seeking inspiration are blessings also. Peace and More Peace, Dwight Lee Wolter
UK fans - have you had any luck with getting a signed copy of Bread of Angels? I'm looking for leads please. I'm not sure how I missed the pre-sales but loads of indie bookshops have already sold out of signed books (gutted!)
I truly cannot wait to read the new book! It'll be a while before I can afford it (I always want the audio book cause I love listening to you read aloud, and they can be pretty expensive here for the first couple of months) but you better know I'll be seated when the time comes!! Until then, I am just so thankful for all the time and kindness you share with us via your videos and messages. I started reading your books as an adult, but I wish I could go back in time to show your art to little lampje, who needed to see they weren’t the only strange bird out there. I won't claim any likeness in talent or anything, but your work makes my weird little mind feel less lonely. Best regards!! A fan from Belgium 💚💚
If someone in Dublin would like a last minute ticket to tonight's performance, Patti Smith in Dublin, let me know. I cannot go. So, I will gift it to you via Ticketmaster.
Listen to local activist Kelly Franklin talk about Selby’s grand tree removal plan
This week, City resident a City government watchdog Kelly Franklin joins me to discuss trees, public art and the public good. Our local botanical garden plans to level over 100 trees (7 grand oaks among them) for the Selby Gardens Phase I| Master Plan renovation. What is at stake? And the City of Sarasota put Burns Court sidewalk art at the mercy of the State of Florida, which directed the City to scrub all the art.
The City is a changing...we'll talk about these changes and what they mean for residents.

I will be travelling to Dublin to see you on Monday. The island has just been battered by Storm Amy (“the remains of Hurricane Humberto”) with about 200,000 homes without power for a while. America sending us bad weather and good music at nearly the same time... I hope your flight won’t be too turbulent. While in Dublin I thought I might visit the Hugh Lane Gallery on Parnell Square, but I discovered that it closed last Sunday for major refurbishment… it will only be closed for 3 years!! Patti, if you could time a concert in Dublin for its reopening, that would make another visit much more enticing! For anyone going to Dublin next week who might not know this: many museums in Dublin are free of charge (some are closed on Mondays though) including the 3 National Museum sites (archaeology, decorative arts, natural history), the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the National Gallery and one gem is the ‘Chester Beatty Library’ beside Dublin Castle (a collection of rare books and prints donated to the nation by an American philanthropist). Walking along the Liffey near the 3Arena venue is nice too with plenty to see: the most striking landmarks are the Samuel Beckett bridge in the shape of a harp and the Famine sculpture group, in two very different ways. Patti, thank you for coming to Ireland ♥
