The song Easter is the title track of the album aster produced in 1978. The song was written for Arthur Rimbaud and his siblings, and thus all children. Madame Rimbaud would have them dress in their best and oblige them to walk single file to church. I imagined the restless young poet calling to his brother and sisters to follow the bells and their hearts instead of this obligatory confining ritual. Pictured is Arthur (seated) and his older brother Frederic.
Happy Easter everyone. And a beautiful day of celebration and contemplation to all, be one’s faith structured or unfettered.
I was 17 years old and Easter had just come out. I loved the album, I loved the song, playing it over and over, I didn't know who, or what the song Easter was about...I was understanding, but not really knowing, and yet knowing I understood. And that same year, I saw you perform at the Capital Theater in support of the Easter album. Now, through this post from you, I have a much deeper understanding and I love it even more.
Thank you Patti❤
I never got to see Patti when she was trampin' round Austin late 70's early 80's but finally got to see her last Sat. night and it was worth every second of the wait. She's been on steady rotation on the Marabito jam box ever since.
