Ah, that's amazing! I love when good books are also really beautiful to look at! Bookmarked! :-)
I've just come back a few days from a trip with my sister and mother (so catching up again here now) - visiting me here in the UK together for the first time. I found a new (to me) small book publisher and shop while in Bath. They publish mainly books by forgotten female writers, called Persephone books. The outside is always grey but the endpapers have beautiful colourful patterns..
I suggested my husband we stay at Hotel Suisse for our honeymoon only because it’s “your” place. It was the closest I ever felt to you. Goodnight Patti!
I was wondering, do you like Audre Lorde’s literature? I’ve recently been quite struck by her works, and particularly the essay ‘Uses of the Erotic’, which to me discusses especially the very core creative energy and fully inhibiting our vitality - which are topics your works have also spoken to me about (eternally thankful for that).
Patti, have you seen “Genet” on Mubi? It’s an hour of him being interviewed. Also, on Night Flight Plus, they have the documentary Black, White & Grey about Sam Wagstaff and Robert. Maybe you’ve already seen them but if you haven’t, check it out.
Dear Patti, Thank you so much for the photos. What a treasure to own this first edition of Finnegans Wake. Wishing you well and safe travels on your journey around Europe.
I have a signed copy of your book, M Train, first edition, which I treasure. (Are there any other editions?)
Thank you for sharing, dear Patti
Ah, the Mediterranean! 🌊♥️ Nice sound backdrop…
Wonderful to see this and hear your story, or part of it. Hope you slept well!
Listening to the sound of the sea feels like my mind is getting a bath, a cleansing.
Wonderful performance of Summertime Sadness
. The audience sing along is so magical and lifting.
Jackson was playing beautiful guitar and watching you with amazement as we all do.
I’m finally able to listen to Summertime Sadness without welling up with tears.
Happy Tuesday, Tree
